Correl
Correl is the fantasy world I've been creating since early 2019. While the world has hosted a few D&D campaigns, it's mostly just an excuse for me to worldbuild, as well as flex my game design muscles. Making home-brewed D&D content is super fun, and within a robust system like D&D 5th Edition, you can get super creative.
Correl is home to eight separate regions, all fantasy analogs of real world civilizations like Renaissance Italy, Golden Age Greece, Feudal Japan, or your classic D&D setting: Medieval Europe.
The most extensive game design I've done for this world is around the subraces of human that come from each other these regions. I've always been a little lukewarm on humans as a race in D&D because, beyond the +1 to every stat at character creation, the race itself lacks any sort of intrigue. The Variant Human solves this problem with the addition of cool feats, but I wanted to make it feel like these abilities were more grounded in the setting.
And before anyone complains these are unbalanced or overpowered, I don't wanna hear it. They're used in my games and my number one goal is to make sure everyone has fun. Nothing's overpowered when I can give the monsters the same crazy abilities too.
So go! Explore the different regions and the abilities you may gain if you create a character from there.
