Astronomy
The night sky is very significant to the people of Qeheir. Their maps of the heavens trump any other from all of Correl. So advanced is their study of the Sun, Moon, and stars that events like weddings and festivals are planned to the day on equinoxes or even eclipses using their sophisticated lunar calendar.
The Moon then is of particular importance to the people of Qeheir. It is said to bring great happiness to marry someone who’s lunar phase matches your own. As such any player making a character from Qeheir can choose the phase of the moon present during their birth and gain the benefits thereof.
New Moon
The new moon is the first phase of the moon and, as such, is the weakest. A new moon casts no light in the evening, invisible in the black of night. Qeheri born during the new moon are more accustomed to darkness than others. If your character was born during the new moon you gain the following benefits.
Stellar Sight
The lack of moonlight in the sky does not hinder your sight. You have darkvision and can see in dim light up to 60 ft. as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.
Starlight
With no Moon in the sky the twinkling stars are relied on to brighten the night. You can channel the stars’ shine to illuminate your surroundings. You know the Faerie Fire spell and can cast it once per long rest. Intelligence is your spell casting ability for this spell.
Half Moon
The half moon is bathed equally in light as it is in darkness. Those born under a half moon often feel the tension inside themselves as these opposing forces do battle. Qeheri who are strong enough to conquer this internal conflict achieve an incredible sense of balance and tranquility. If your character was born during the half moon you gain the following benefits.
Gleam or Gloom
For a brief moment the force of light or darkness triumphs over its adversary, protecting you from those who wield its force. If the light prevails you may take your reaction to become immune to necrotic damage. If the darkness prevails you may take your reaction to become immune to radiant damage. This effect lasts until the start of your next turn. This ability recharges after a long rest.
Serenity
The forces of light and dark become equal within you. You are at peace. As a bonus action you gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Wisdom modifier. The effect wears off after 10 minutes. This ability recharges after a long rest.
Full Moon
The full moon is the most prominent and powerful figure in the night sky. It shines bright through the shadows of night: a weapon against the darkness. Qeheri born under a full moon are blessed with its strength and potency. If your character was born under the full moon you gain the following benefits.
Illumination
The Moon’s full face illuminates your vision at all times. Darkness cannot alter your sight. You cannot be blinded, even by magical means.
Lunar Strike
You feel a brilliant energy lingering inside you just waiting to erupt. At will, the bright light of the full moon surges from within you. Once per long rest you may add radiant damage equal to your level to a weapon or spell attack.
